I took this photo when we were in Cascais last week.
Happy Easter! He is risen!
We had gone to St. Andrew's for Palm Sunday, so we returned for Easter.
After the service, the coffee hour featured sandwiches, chips, and a delicious almond cake, as well as wine.
On the way to the aquarium, I noticed this quote etched into a stone wall. It's by Lisbon's famous poet, Fernando Pessoa. I tried translating the words, and this is what I got:
"Be cheerful and light. Laugh and flourish. Carnations in childhood, tiny roses, they are the smiles of love opening."
(If anyone can do better, please let me know! But it's still beautiful language.)
The National Aquarium, located on the east bank of the Tagus River, has a dramatic design.
On the first floor, there were many views of the giant tanks full of a huge number of fish.
The sunfish looks like a giant rock with movable flippers.
