I had reserved a tour at the Lindt Factory today, so I decided to go to the botanical garden which was on the way. It was on the West side of the city and in an area I had not been to. But with the great tram/bus system, I was able to somewhat easily get there.
The exhibits were very well done and quite educational. And with an English translation! I learned a lot.
The "felt" is that white substance in the center. Also seen below:
