Grindelwald Museum

We went to the Grindelwald Museum to learn more about the history of this area.  The town has 4000 people. Previously, the museum was a schoolhouse.

The sedan chair was used to transport people up the mountain in the 1800's. I was amused by the look of the mannequin below as she awaited her transport.

Old fashioned double chair lift.

The Wetterhorn Lift - the world's first aerial cable car.

Wooden skis

 Glacier saw for cutting ice

Cuckoo clocks

Children's scooters

Old fashioned toboggan

  1. Wow, I don't know if I would have felt safe taking a cable car in the early 1900's!
