Aboard the Pride of America

NCL's Pride of America seemed much larger that the QE2, the last ship I was on in the 1980's. Initially, I kept heading for the bow when I needed to be at the stern. But signage was great, with many banks of elevators, so eventually I got the directions correct.

Two views of Diamond Head as we approached the shore.

Pool area.

 Hot tub and deck.

Spacious exercise area and one of the many areas to relax or dine.

Road Scholar had a cocktail party one night. It was delightful to be out on deck while the sun set. Here I am with new friends, Ann (left) and Deb.

We went to one of the specialty restaurants - a Brazilian steakhouse - with the RS group. It was interesting how the waiters carried around spears of meat and then carved them. We held tongs, ready to serve ourselves as the meat was carved.

We tasted many different kinds of meat from filet mignon to lamb. And then, there was roasted pineapple.

One of the ports required the use of tenders to ferry us to the dock.

The next specialty restaurant was Jefferson, which was French. This one was especially good. First time I tried escargot - delicious!
