Train to St. Moritz and Lunch Aboard the "Rhatische Bahn"

This morning, we took the Glacier Express to Reichenau-Tamins. The full Glacier Express route takes eight hours from Zermatt to St. Moritz. We just took the route along the Abula line since we were already in Lucarno.

Views along the way:

Lunch in the dining car was elegant and delicious. I was so hungry, I forgot to take a photo of lunch. It was seasoned carrots, wild rice and a chicken dish with a savory sauce.

The large brass ring to the right of the bread basket was to hold a wine bottle.

Later on in the afternoon, we arrived at St. Moritz. The train station was at the bottom of a very high hill. We took three escalators to get to the city. (There were also winding paths we could have taken, but we wanted to check in quickly.)

The peak season in St. Moritz is June to mid-October. Perhaps it ended earlier as some stores were closed, and the town was somewhat empty. They seem to have another season around the holidays since some signs in stores said, "See you December 2023."

This etched sign was for a doctor's office.
