Abu Dhabi, Part 4 - Afternoon Tea

The afternoon tea took place on the first floor off the lobby. When we entered, there was a harpist playing, and when we left, there was a pianist. Beautiful music.

We spent about two hours relaxing, drinking cappuccino, enjoying tea sandwiches and the many desserts on our tiered serving  platter.

Cappuccino with 24 carat gold flakes.

Our table set for tea.

Scones of many flavors.

The tiered platter. The top was the desserts. The second and bottom were many different kinds of tea  sandwiches, including salmon, olive quiche, chicken, and tomato with cheese. All were sliced in half so we could both have a taste.

The desserts were varied and also opulent. We finished about one third of the desserts and  three quarters of the sandwiches. An elegant take-away box allowed us to take the leftovers back to Dubai.

It was Valentine’s Day, so there were many couples celebrating with roses and balloons.

  1. Wow! I didn't understand at first that all those desserts and food was for both of you. What a fun afternoon!
