The North Cape - Pastries and history at Heidi’s

After stopping at a plateau for the beautiful view and photographing, we reboarded the bus and went to see Heidi, the wife of a local fisherman. She had prepared a tasty spread of pastries as well as coffee or tea. She spoke about the town and her life as well as showing a short film. She also has a Christmas Shop which had many items including handmade knitted sweaters, socks and mittens. All beautiful. But I just bought 3 five NOK post cards of the NorthKapp.

Outside Heidi’s shop.

 Inside having pastries...
Heidi telling us about her life.

Eva’s studio was in town, so we walked over to the dock to see the many fishing boats. But most interesting was the cod hanging from the rafters to dry. I’m sure we would have missed it if the guide had not directed our attention to it. It was also interesting to see the dock with all the ropes, and other paraphernalia associated with a small town fishing town pier.
