Ladies Car, Souks and Dubai Marina

The last cars on the metro are the Ladies Cars. They are labeled pink on the platform. It’s wonderful because there are less people in the ladies car, so it’s easier to get a seat.

Paula and I went to explore the souks, or marketplaces. They sell everything from clothes to rugs to scarves to lots and lots of souvenirs. It’s a bustling area, and you’re supposed to haggle with them, a practice I don’t really like. I’d rather they just price them accordingly, but haggling is the norm. I did get better at it.

Paula was going back to Sharjah that night, so we returned to the apartment, and she got her suitcase. Then we went for dinner at Le Pirate on the Dubai Marina. It was dusk and the lights were coming on.
